Dragon_4eva's guide to watching movies!

Do you find yourself receiving glares at the cineplex? Do people around you grumble at the end of movies?

Then this guide is for YOU!

1) Go to the toilet BEFORE the movie

There is nothing more annoying than someone getting up in the middle of a movie to go to the toilet. In case you haven't noticed, its cramped in the cinema, and when you get up to go to the toilet, people need to move, just to let you through. At the same time, you're blocking people's view! Then when you open the door to go out, the light comes in. IRRITATING YOU KNOW!

Of course, it makes life easier for you as well, as you won't need to miss a good part of the movie just to take a leak.

2) Buy your snacks and drinks BEFORE the movie

Like 1, you are irritating when you need to go out just to get snacks. Control yourself!

Plus, if you limit yourself to what you get before the movie, you get to cut down on eating junk! This does not mean you go overboard before though.

3) In regards to your phone, TURN IT OFF!

You go to the cineplex to watch a movie, not use your phone. So turn it off. No silent mode, just simply turn it off. If you are expecting an important phone call, perhaps you should'nt even be in the cineplex in the first place. If your phone is on silent, or it vibrates, and you open it to check, that back light comes on. As of late, the phone screens have become bigger and bigger. And the lighting is brighter and brighter. So remember to turn it off!

The light of the phone is distracting, as is the noise if you somehow forget to put it on silent if that is your initial thought.

4) Keep your comments to yourself

If you know whats going to happen, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. If your friends phone rings, don't be smart and say loudly "HOI! TUTUP FON LAR!" just to cover yourself up, then snicker loudly(GRRR...). Its irritating. Its bloody irritating.

If you know whats going to happen, don't spoil it for others. If your friend's phone rings, please don't act smart. You're making a fool of yourself, and you're not making any friends by doing that.

5) Do not swear loudly and stupidly

Don't swear in the cineplex. Its disturbing. To have someone loudly yell out cuss words at inappropriate times, is just not needed in the cinema. If you want to swear, keep it to yourself. There is no need to educate the rest of us, as we already know how to use it.

This applies especially to the younger, want-to-act-cool generation. Sounding like the words are forced out, its distracting, and not part of the integral movie experience. If the movie would have sounded better with it, the directors would have put it in. No doubt, to be removed by censures here.

6) Do not put your foot on the back of the chair in front of you

Your foot belongs on the floor, not resting on the back of a chair. When you laugh and your legs kick, the person in front of you will be steaming away. How would you like it if your chair was being kicked around the whole movie?

Be nice, keep your feet where they belong, and we can all enjoy the movie better.

7) Chewing gum does not belong on a chair

Or under a chair for that matter. If you do need to chew gum, do not, under any circumstances, use the chair as a place to dump your gum. Ever. Notice I say THE chair. Not YOUR chair. In other words, the chairs in front of you, next to you, behind you, on your way out, are all out of the question. If you must chew gum, either you

a) Keep chewing till the movie is over
b) Use the wrapper

Its not nice to come into the cineplex, pull down the chair, then when you sit down, find there's remnants of you left in the seat. Neither is it nice on the armrest.

8) Sit in your own seat

If you get a seat number, find that seat number and sit THERE. Do not just walk to the nearest available seat, and plonk yourself down. When the owners of that seat comes, the argument on whos seat it is, the moving around, finding of a new seat, which will happen at the start of the movie, is irritating like 1) and 2).

If you wanted that seat so badly, go earlier next time, and reserve it sooner.

9) Don't throw popcorn

If the movie is boring, don't throw popcorn at your friends. Ever. Other people still want to watch the movie, even if you might not. If you start a popcorn fight, its not going to hit only your friends, no matter how good you are.

Plus, your actions throwing, dodging, laughing, all detract from others watching the movie.

10) To all couples, the cineplex is not a place for you to make out.

Yeah, its dark, BUT that does not give you the liberty to start making out in the cineplex. People want to watch the movie, not two people giving CPR.
