Voices

Owen Wilson voices Lightning McQueen

McQueen is the hero of the story. Novice in the Piston Cup, he finds himself stuck in a small town called Radiator Springs, where he learns a lot about life itself.

Larry The Cable Guy voices Mater

Mater. The Tow Truck. All-around nice guy, and self proclaimed best backwards driver and Lightning McQueens best friend.

Bonnie Hunt voices Sally Carrera

Sally, town lawyer and owner of the Cozy Cone Motel. This little Porche came down from California to escape the life of the big city, and becomes the interest of McQueen

Paul Newman voices Doc Hudson

Doc Hudson. Radiator Springs resident Doctor, judge, and former three time Piston Cup champion.

Cheech Marin voices Ramone

Owner of Ramone's House of Body Art, the custom body and paint shop. With no one to paint, he paints himself daily, and sports many different paint schemes throughout the movie, as well as providing McQueen with his own new look. This low-rider likes to go Low and Slow, and is married to... Flo. (sorry bout that... had to get it out...which brings us to...)

Jenifer Lewis voices Flo

She runs the local diner, Flo's V8 Cafe, the only petrol(gas?) station for miles. Shes a nice person, who happens to be married to Ramone.

Paul Dooley voices Sarge

Ten Hut! This former WW2 Army Jeep owns Sarge's Surplus Hut, selling, well, army surplus. He mows his lawn twice a day, and begins each morning by flying the Stars and Stripes, and with a rendition of the Reveille, which is always interrupted by a rendition of Jimi Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner, played by Fillmore.

George Carlin voices Fillmore

Fillmore the Hippy. He brews organic fuel, and sports organic oil and organic brake shoes as well. Everything that embodies the hippy, he is the very picture of a Flower Power mobile.

Michael Keaton voices Chick Hicks

Chick is the villain in the movie, resorting to dirty tactics in his attempts to win the Piston Cup. He is one of the three cars attempting to win the Piston Cup, and ends up tied at the end of the season. The other two cars are Lightning McQueen and The King.

Richard Petty voices The King

Reigning champion, and a Racing Champion. He holds more Piston Cups than any other car, and intends to retire after this Piston Cup

Guido Quaroni voices Guido

The only English words this little Italian forklift knows are "Pit Stop". He can change tires in 2.5 seconds flat, and runs the Radiator Springs Casa Della Tires with his good friend, Luigi.

Tony Shalhoub voices Luigi

This avid Ferrari fan runs the local Tire Shop, and is Italian to the core. He gets to meet a Real Ferrari at the end of the show, voiced by Michael Schumacher. He and Guido both flip over when Schumi speaks to them in Italian.

Storyline

McQueen, Chick and The King all are tied for the lead in the Piston Cup going into the Final Race. With the race finishing in a 3-way tie, the three cars head over for the finals. McQueen however finds himself in Radiator Springs, and is forced to repair massive damage done to their road.

As he repairs the road, he slowly befriends the many residents of Radiator Springs, and learns the lesson of life. That the journey is more important than the destination. He learns that there is more to life than just winning, and later shows this in the tie breaking race.

Interestingly though, even the flies are cars. Hrm.... They also swear by saying Jesus Chrystler!

Bloopers as told by IMBd, The Internet Movie database

In the final race, Chick's shiny "C" decal reflects onto Lightning. However, the reflection should be inverted but is shown as a regular "C".

In the scene when the new neon in the town is being shut off, there is a full frontal shot of Flo's turning its lights off. Then, they switch to a view of the entire town shutting its lights off. Flo's lights are on again, only to be shut off.

The first time Sally and Lightning are at the Wheel Well Motel, there are two gas pumps. Later, three pumps are shown at the opening ceremony.

The official bio for Sarge states that he is a patriotic 1942 WWII Willys Army Jeep. Yet if you look at the car tag on Sarge it says 41WW2 which would be a tag for a 1941 WW2 jeep.
